This is the first movement of "Breton Fantasy," an exciting two-movement piece for one piano, four hands inspired by the region of Brittany (Bretagne), France. "Plougastell" is a lively original dance tune (with a more lyrical middle section) written to honor and evoke the idyllic Breton commune of Plougastell-Daoulaz. Program notes included. Composer's note: I wrote this movement as a Mother's Day gift for my mother Rae Anne Tyra in 2017. We still enjoy playing it together.
