Product Description
Clarinet Quartet - 3 x Bb Clarinets and Bass Clarinet (or 4th Bb Clarinet)
Since Robert Burns wrote the words of Auld Lang Syne in 1788, it has become a standard feature of New Year celebrations, Burns nights, and the closing stages of almost every ceilidh dance and wedding in Burnsâ native Scotland. This arrangement by Scottish clarinettist and arranger, Hugh Levey, is for 3 Bb clarinets and bass clarinet or 4 Bb clarinets. It is written in a key (concert F major) which is suitable for community or solo singing. Full lyrics for all five verses are included with the programme notes.
It opens with 'bagpipe' drones which accompany a short introduction of the melodic material by clarinet 3, before clarinet 1 and 2 take over the tune with the drone accompaniment. The final verse is written in a rich 4 part harmony to provide a majestic ending for the popular work.
Duration - 1â 48" for 2 verses. Approximately 5â for all five verses
