Product Description

Suo Gan, simply translated to lullaby (suo = lull; cân = song), is a traditional song from Wales of unknown origins, mostly associated with the 1987's film The Empire of the Sun, by Steven Spielberg, where is featured prominently.
This new version provides choirs with the challenge of highlighting the melody in every verse in one voice, while other voices provide harmonic sustain and second melodies. The climax of the piece also demands high/low notes for the choir and adds the novelty of singing with an oboe, although the part can be adapted to violin or flute as well.
For those accustomed to sing in different languages, this song also gives the opportunity to learn and sing in Welsh, a not-so-common language in the choral landscape.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
