'Shalom Aleichem' is a contemporary liturgical composition by Australian-born singer-songwriter, Dean Staker, who is well-known in the UK Jewish community for the creation of the 'Anglo-Jewish Sound'. Since the song first featured at the highly acclaimed 'Shabbat Resouled' services at Finchley Progressive Synagogue in London in 2008 (and the subsequent 'Shabbat Resouled' album, released in 2010) it has spread to communities around the world and earned first prize in the Spiritual/Inspirational category of the Pacific Songwriting Contest. The song, described by many as 'Beatle-esque', is upbeat and evokes the sounds of late-60s British rock.
